Hubertus Czernin
Hubertus Czernin (born Hubertus Alexander Felix Franz Maria Czernin von und zu Chudenitz; 17 January 1956 – 10 June 2006) was an Austrian investigative journalist who made important discoveries relating to his native Austria's Nazi past.He was born in Vienna on 17 January 1956 to Felix Theobald Paul Anton Maria Reichsgraf Czernin von und zu Chudenitz (1902–1968) and his wife Franziska née Baronin von Mayer-Gunthof (1926–1987). From the mid-1980s to his untimely death in 2006, Czernin was one of the most important investigative journalists in the German-speaking world and a key figure in Austria. He is most known in Austria for helping to expose the child sex abuse scandal of Austrianl Groer as well as the Nazi past of former United Nations Secretary-General and Austrian President Kurt Waldheim. In the United States he is most known for being instrumental in the eventual restitution of Gustav Klimt's Adele Bloch-Bauer I - as depicted in the movie Woman in Gold - to its rightful Jewish heirs.
