Sie war mit Stuck ausgekleidet und gänzlich bemalt. Bellori und Bartolis "Pitture antiche" bestehen aus 35 Tafeln, die zuvor in 35 kurzen Kapiteln erklärt werden. Die Rezension im "Giornale de’ letterati" (1680) ist keine analytische Besprechung dieses Werkes; eher feiert sie die Leistungen von Bellori und Bartoli auf dem Gebiet der Altertumswissenschaft. A burial chamber caved in Tufa with a simple façade was discovered in 1674 about five miles outside Rome. It was decorated with paintings and stucco ornament. The "Pitture antiche" of Bellori and Bartoli comprises 35 plates which are explicated in 35 concise chapters.
