Notes:This article was written on the occasion of a meeting, in the editorial office of the Journal "Sovetish heymand", of men and women who, in their childood and youth, took part in one of the most interesting and successful pedagogical experiments of the time, the Malakhovka children colony. The author describes the beginnings of the colony in 1920, ending with a short update on the life of some of its former members. The pictures illustrating the life of the children were taken by Ilja Plotkin, at the time one the "Malakhovker children".
