Notes:The documentary report is taken from the diary of Roza Izakovna Leykina, a Jewish medical doctor living in the Ukrainian city of Dnepropetrovsk. The diary, written after the Second World War, reports what was taking place during the German occupation of the city, in 1941. Roza Izakovna Leykina and her husband survived the occupation; she could later report about her survival, and more in detail about the massacre of the Jewish population, 37000 people were killed in two days, about robberies, rape, hunger and death under the SS Nazi regime. The diary was translated from the Russian by Shira Gorshman, who wrote also an introduction to this report, and it was edited and prepared for publication by Meyer Polonski.
